What Can a Device Filter Do?

Report Uninstall Attempts

When faced with strong temptations many users in the past would uninstall their filtering app, which would disable monitoring.

Most filters will report this to accountability partners right away. This makes it harder to compromise when under strong temptation

Monitor App Usage

Just because someone is not actively viewing sinful content doesn’t mean that they shouldn’t have a device accountability partner.

Most filters will report app usage, which includes a detailed report of what apps were being used.

Any trigger words you add

Filters can only do so well at catching all trigger words that should be caught. Therefore, most filters allow accountability partners to add trigger words to the trigger word monitor. This enables more accurate reporting on inappropriate content that isn’t necessarily explicit.

YouTube

Youtube is a huge channel for inappropriate content, and in the past, it was really hard for filters to detect and report accurately. Now, with the help of screenshot monitoring, filters can monitor video content better.

Social Media

Social media is one of the leading sources of porn, or at least “soft porn”. Having a monitor on social media might seem extreme, but it is highly useful.

Calls and text

With the rise of spam calls and texts, there is an increase in non-web porn. Filters can help reduce the temptation to engage in inappropriate texts and calls.

Resources

“Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.”

– Proverbs 4:23
